LARGO PIZZERIA – WHERE ITALY MEETS PORTUGAL

So, for a long time since I moved to Pune, I was hunting for thin crust, delectable pizza. Delhi being the food heaven, it was never a challenge for me to find something to satisfy my taste-buds. And I am a huge lover of wood-fired, thin crust, proper Italian style pizza – watch the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ and you will know what I am talking about!

In Viman Nagar, my options were limited to the conventional places like Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc. But one fine day, it all changed.

Hidden in the residential lanes of Viman Nagar, I discovered this quaint Italian eatery called ‘Largo Pizzeria’. It has since become ‘pizza paradise’ for me!

Largo Pizzeria is a row house designed as a Portuguese villa and for a moment you will feel you are in Goa. Painted in bright yellow and blue, the facade throws out a very welcoming vibe. The place offers indoor and alfresco seating with a rustic but artistic décor.

Coming to the pizza – hands down, they are the best thin crust pizza in town! Baked to perfection, each pizza has the right amount of crispiness, toppings and cheese pulls. They have a very limited menu, however, they are worth every penny and more. The most amazing part is – till 8:00pm you can get to buy individual slices too. The fare is easy on the pocket, heavy on the tummy and totally satisfying on gastronomy.

We went in rather late at night and between the two of us, we ordered a 16” mushroom, onion and olives pizza with extra cheese. In just one bite, we were transported to another world! The freshness of the ingredients, the generous toppings, and the base are the things you drool about, once you get over the copious amount of mozzarella! The quantity of the pizza was too much for us and we could eat only two slices each, the rest of it became our breakfast. You can enjoy the slices with Orange/Lemon Tang or chilled Ice-tea.

One thing that I like about this place is that they know what they are offering and stick to delivering good quality. One can only dine-in or takeaway, they have no home delivery system in place, and by the looks of it, they don’t even need to start. Also, if you are a pet lover, you will get a playmate there who will welcome you with a cheesy mee-ow!

Address: Bungalow 6, Gera Villas, Opposite Silver Line Apartments, Viman Nagar Road, Viman Nagar, Pune.

Cost: INR 40 for Vegetarian slice / INR 50 for Non-vegetarian slice
