What happens when working towards a goal becomes difficult? Do you push ahead or take a rest?
Life is one struggle after the next, a series of choices every day, and there comes a point when we question ourselves – Do I stay or do I leave?
One of the hardest decisions we make in our life is the decision to focus on making our dream a reality, or to keep moving on the conventional path of existence. Once we decide to tread the path of our dreams, sooner or later, we start having doubts on our ability to succeed. We come across people who tell us that our idea is no good!! We start doubting ourselves in our own journey – that’s okay.
Anyone can make the decision to start, however the winners are the ones who are bold enough to continue striving.
The need to overcome the obstacles that will inevitably come our way externally and internally will determine the level of our success. The difference between those who persist and those who quit is being mentally prepared for what it takes to cross the success line, keeping faith that the best is yet to come. When things are at its worst, we need to constantly motivate ourselves, because there will always be light at the end of the tunnel of our miseries. The greatest of all inventions and successes go through ‘a dip’ before they achieve the opulence. The night is darkest just before the dawn.
There will be disappointments and failures, achievements and accomplishments, but all those peaks and valleys are what will make our journey so great. The power to keep going will surmount all difficulties. When we combine our energy and passion, we see new ways around challenges and take steps to achieve our goals. Persistence can overcome almost any challenge. When we put your mind to something and are willing to do everything it takes, including patience, putting in time and altering our strategies we will definitely reach our beloved destination.
It’s important to want things, to have goals and aspirations, but it’s even more vital to take the action to achieve them. Thoughts alone won’t get us to the goal-post; we need to put in the effort that is essential to reach the objective. The point at which we most want to give up is often the time we most need to push through – change occurs when enough stress is applied to correct the form of something! Until we pass that key stress point, the efforts of our exertion are not visible and in fact can be undone quite easily.
Meanwhile, it is also important that we take the time to celebrate even our small victories in daily life. Small victories are worth celebrating too! Take a step back and understand that instead of concentrating on all that we are not getting done, we should be focusing on all that we are getting done.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going – when we keep going forward in our journey, we encounter the beauty of our destination!
“When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
